Moving house
March 18, 2007Welcome to the new location for my “site”. It isn’t really much of a site at the moment, and will probably remain so in terms of the layout. If I wanted to consider altering the visual aesthetic, I would also have to consider becoming part of the plastic money culture, which: do not want. However, I will be adding back the pages that were up previously at Emily’s Asylum. I’ve been wanting to abandon the site completely, but I remembered wordpress.com and decided to just start fresh here. I thought it would be easier to be active with a site that is primarily an online journal (I cannot stand the word ‘blog’, something I have in common with Anna Wintour apparently), and not a site first and foremost that barely gets updated.
So, who am I? If you have never heard of me before, here’s the ‘07 version:
- My personality is most like 80s synth pop. I’m happy, cheesy and don’t really take myself too seriously.
- I study Communication Studies at a university née technological institute. Unfortunately, people expect me to be some fantastic oral communicator because of this. I am not. I am the best example of how not to act when meeting new people. I do like written communication though.
- I am also a compulsive editor. Please don’t use this against me, since I definitely do not notice all my mistakes. This is just to explain why small details might change before your eyes.
- I love cats. This is probably due to the fact they possess the same streak of independence that I do. My brother’s cat currently smells like a toilet, so I don’t really love him so much at the moment.
- My name is Emily. I am 18 and live in New Zealand. This information could have been written first, but I like to be original.
