More information than you needed to know!

Name: Emily (I somehow feel this is redundant).
Lives: Auckland, New Zealand.
The mental picture: 1.69m, which I think is somewhere around 5′6″ if my metric to imperial conversions are correct. Brown hair, blue-green eyes, chin the size of a small country (I jest!) & glasses + braces.

I was born early December ‘88 in South Auckland, and according to a very reliable source (my mother) I was a very easy birth. Before I was able to relish the fact I had beaten my brother (Martien, 20, smart arse) in something, my mother had to go and spoil it by telling me that I puked on anyone and anything. It seems all this puking had a detrimental effect on my memories of my childhood because I don’t really remember anything - and even one of my earliest memories is of someone puking on me.

My personality normally ranges from being extremely hyper and silly, to shy and reserved, with a slight smattering of irrational temper thrown in for good measure.

I am a big fan of music because it is a) great for dancing and burning my excess energy and b) allows me to practise my American Idol singing (Jeff Buckley would just love my interpretation of his falsetto if he was alive). I tend to like rock music, both mainstream and the slightly obscure, but I’m also a sucker for piano based melodies and funky bass riffs. Unfortunately I don’t really like rap or hardcore metal, because I’m an awful head banger and I can’t even sing Ice Ice Baby on Singstar 80s (although I did have a promising start). I also have experience with playing music, not just shimmying to it, because I started learning the violin at the tender age of six. I love my violin lots, but a maestro I am not.

Some of the other interests that colour in the gaps of the colouring book of my life are reading, shopping, watching quiz shows (I love Bert’s Family Feud!), art (normally of the useless kind like decorating my phone with nailpolish) and going on the computer. I could also say I like to eat, but I don’t know if that really classifies as an interest. I have developed superior skills of disposing unwanted food, in particular meat. I’m not actually vegetarian. I just hate the taste of meat, and love vegetables. Yes, even spinach and broccoli.

Hopefully you’ve loved hearing a little bit about me. If not, you better read this again because I’m fantastic!
